Will actually turned 18 months old on March 1st, which is when I wrote this post. I got a little side tracked with some pregnancy things and didn't have a chance to sort through pictures so I waited to post until I could add my favorite part. . .Willl photos! So below is the post I wrote back on March 1st and I will make a second post with all of the photos and captions.My little man is a year and a half old! Will is really looking like the little man he is.
Here are Will's stats:
32.75 Inches Tall (65th percentile)
24lbs 13oz (35th percentile)
51 Centimeter Head Circumference (Over 100th Percentile)
Will has fallen off the weight wagon a little so we have been given instructions to get him some additional calories. For dinner tonight Will had an egg with cheese and sausage. Wish I had this problem;). He is a busy little man who spends most of the day climbing, running, and generally not sitting still so I'm not too surprised he burns off most of his caloric intake. We're just going to have to get more creative about what we feed him. Now that he's got all of his teeth (except for a few molars which we don't expect to arrive until after he's two years old) he definitely has more options!
Other than that Will is doing great! He's speaking up a storm, though much of his vocabulary is Will specific and understood most easily by Mom and Dad. It is a little rough now that he can tell me exactly what he wants. Sometimes I try to pretend I don't know what it is but that tactic is quickly losing ground as he gets better and better at communicating.
He does a great job feeding himself (with a spoon/fork!) until he either gets bored or full and then he dumps it off his plate. His favorite foods are currently greek yogurt, cheese sticks, grapes, and strawberries. He still loves minty things, altoids (he will do just about anything for an altoid), junior mints, etc. His interest in raisins has waned but he's finally willing to eat pears. He doesn't like things that are too sweet and he's all about dipping things. Whenever I offer him something he either spits out or ignores I'll quickly whip up something for him to dip it in and then viola, it's tasty and edible!
There's pretty much nothing Will can't do physically now, once he puts his mind to it. He's going through a little bit of a shy phase though which is adorable but a little sad as now he saves his funniest conversations and actions for only Mom and Dad. It's next to impossible to capture him on camera these days as he's lightening quick and chooses not to pose anymore (that just reduces running time).
Will just got a new toddler bed though he'll probably only be napping in it until well after the twins arrive. He's still really active when he sleeps which means the crib is still the safest place but eventually one of the twins is going to need it.
Speaking of twins, just a little update. Two weeks ago I had an ultrasound to measure their growth and at 30 weeks Cannon was clocking in at 4lbs 5oz and Ella was keeping it dainty at 3lbs 12oz. Everyone is doing well and in the near future I plan to do a pregnancy update post. For those of you who have not heard, we are having a little boy and a little girl. We like to pick names early to take them for a test drive so for now (this could change when we meet them) we are looking forward to welcoming Cannon Churchill Croft and Ella Elizabeth Croft sometime in late April.
I think Will is beginning to realize (though to what extent it's still tough to say) that my ginormous belly might have something to do with siblings. He's really sweet to them, he gives them hugs and kisses but we'll see how he feels when they are taking up both of Mom's arms. . .
At just a year and a half old Will is quite possibly the smartest, sweetest little boy who ever lived. He's extremely creative when it comes to mischief making and definitely has his father's intuitive sense when it comes to disassembling things. Nothing makes me happier than my little boy and I feel so lucky to have him. There really just aren't words. . .
